Visualisation of Student Journey Experience Illustration Case Study

Project Objectives:
Demonstrate how UTS can play a more active role in a student’s life by making use of a digital tool.

Strategy:
Synthesise student workshops and conversations in the form of a sketched visual journey

Process:
1. Briefing: We received a verbal briefing from the Principal designer, describing the nature of the engagement and expected outcomes.
2. Workshop attendance: Alan attended a 60-minute workshop to live capture and synthesise the conversations taking place between students, and facilitators.
3. Visualisation: The visualisation went through 1 round of feedback before it was approved. This involved making incremental adjustments to the illustration to help convey the overall student journey.
4. Visual Design: We then developed a visualisation which was created in Microsoft Powerpoint, that brought together the illustration gradually, with relevant graphics.

Outcomes:
A clearly defined student journey, conveyed in an effective visualisation that articulates the value that UTS provides to a student over their entire lifetime.
