Bradken Culture Map & Animated Strategy

In May 2023, Sh8peshifters worked with leading global manufacturer of differentiated consumable and capital products, Bradken, to charismatically visualise their newly developed Culture Blueprint.

The Challenge:

Bradken is going through a period of exponential growth, which has created the need to redefine the culture to which their people belong and communicate a clear vision that everyone can be aligned to. Taking a visual approach to communicate this message meant three things: clarity that transcends borders and cultures, deeper engagement and a unified memorable message. The visualised culture blueprint aims to shape the Bradken vision and instigate small action towards big change.

Our scope of work included:

  • Visualising a culture blueprint in a way that is accessible and clear across 4 continents and numerous cultures
  • Creating an animated explainer to convey the cultural direction that Bradken are now moving towards
  • Help develop a compelling story that can be communicated clearly in English, Mandarin, Malaysian and Spanish

What we did:

Sh8peshifters facilitated a co-design workshop with stakeholders from Sales, Marketing and People and Culture. These began with aligning the current state, and then looking at the development of the new culture which helped create a deeper understanding of the paradigm shift the company had gone through. We then followed this with storyboarding and script development, in which we also took a co-design approach with the client. This culminated in the creation of a Culture Map mural, and animated explainer video which was unveiled at their culture conference.

Outcomes:

Bradken’s executive leadership team have now requested that culture map be featured in all of their global sites across Europe, America, Asia and Australia, to be used to rally their team of over 3000 people.

With big transformation projects, not only comes a lot of complexity but it is often accompanied by resistance to change and confusion. Integrating visual communication as part of a transformation project create a sense of transparency, alignment and ownership within all members of an organisation.

Immediate feedback we received on the launch of the culture map:

“We presented the Culture map & video this morning. It was a big success! Video was fresh and relatable. And everyone from all around the world wants a copy of the culture map at their site! Just wanted to pass on the feedback and say thank you for the amazing work.” Gabrielle Sumner - Sales Excellence Manager, Bradken
